FAQ’s

How long do we get the venue for our wedding?

Every wedding at Alderwood Crossing includes exclusive use of the property from Friday at 12 PM until Sunday at 12 PM. We believe this gives you the space to breathe — time to decorate, rehearse, celebrate, and wrap up without feeling rushed.

Need more time? Thursday can be added so you can turn your celebration into a 4-day weekend, perfect for a rehearsal dinner or just extra hours with family and friends. Additional weekdays before or after your wedding are also available for $400 per day, depending on availability.

How many people can Alderwood Crossing host?

Our grounds and facilities can comfortably welcome up to 350 guests. Whether you’re planning a large outdoor celebration by the pond or a more intimate gathering inside the rental home, there’s room here to make your day your own.

What is included in our rental?

When you book Alderwood Crossing, you aren’t just renting a space — you’re receiving full access to the property. This includes our on-site rental home (sleeps 14), tables, benches, ceremony archway, lighting, and the outdoor grounds with walking trails and pond. The hot tub is available to overnight guests before and after your wedding, but not during the event itself.

Do you have a kitchen we can use?

Yes. Our on-site rental home has a full kitchen and connected bar area. For overnight guests, it’s a complete kitchen for everyday use. For events, it is best used as a catering space — for staging, serving, and storage, rather than full meal preparation.

Can we choose our own vendors?

Yes! You are free to hire any vendors you’d like. We do provide a list of trusted recommendations, but the choice is completely yours.

Are pets allowed?

We know pets are part of the family. Dogs that are part of the ceremony are welcome, but must remain outdoors. For the comfort of overnight guests, no pets are allowed inside the rental home.

Is there parking for guests?

Yes. We have plenty of parking available on-site, and our grounds are designed to handle weddings up to 350 people.

What about electricity for DJs, Caterers, or Lights?

We provide outdoor outlets, and vendors will just need to bring extension cords to connect their equipment.

Can alcohol be served at our wedding?

Yes, alcohol is allowed with proper insurance. Couples must carry liquor liability insurance and follow Michigan state guidelines:

  • No alcohol may be served to anyone under 21.

  • A licensed bartender is strongly recommended.

  • Hosts are legally responsible for alcohol service.

  • Bartenders may refuse service to any intoxicated guest.

Do we need event insurance?

Yes. A Certificate of Insurance is required for all events. Coverage must include general liability of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence / $2,000,000 aggregate and host liquor liability if alcohol will be served.

The policy must list Alderwood Crossing LLC as the additional insured, and proof of coverage is due at least 30 days before your wedding.

Trusted providers include Eventsured, BriteCo, and The Event Helper — all easy and affordable options.

What about restrooms?

Inside the rental lodge, there are two restrooms with two stalls each. For weddings with more than 75 guests, couples are required to rent one portable restroom for every 75 additional guests.

Is overnight camping an option?

Yes. Tent and RV camping is available for $50 per tent or RV per night. Please note there are no water or electric hookups (beyond limited extension cord use).

Camping is completely up to the bride and groom. All camping areas must remain tidy, and sites should be packed up or cleaned up during the wedding and reception so the celebration space stays beautiful for your big day.

When is Alderwood Crossing available?

Outdoor weddings may be booked from May through October, when the grounds are at their best. Smaller indoor weddings or intimate gatherings inside the rental home are available year-round.
